Sulu Plaza sits directly on White Beach at Station 3, the calm southern end of the strip in Manoc-Manoc, where the sand is quieter and the bars thin out. It is a small place — under a dozen rooms — that opened in 2008 and was last renovated in 2018, and the appeal is straightforward: a genuinely beachfront address at a price well below what that usually costs on this island. The restaurant sits at lobby level looking out over the water, serving Filipino and Thai food, and it has a reputation on the island for its Thai dishes in particular. There is a bar and lounge alongside it, and a terrace. Breakfast is served a la carte from 8:00am to 1:00pm and is charged separately rather than bundled into the rate. Room service runs on limited hours. Complimentary WiFi covers the property, there is parking, a concierge who can arrange diving, snorkelling and island trips, and an airport shuttle available for an extra charge. The front desk is staffed from 7:00am to midnight rather than around the clock. Rooms are simple and all non-smoking, with air conditioning, a flat-screen cable TV, an in-room safe, a desk and an en suite bathroom with a shower. The Deluxe rooms add a refrigerator and a furnished balcony, and the one-bedroom Apartment is the standout — fifty square metres with a kitchenette and cooking equipment, a separate dining area, a small living area and a veranda facing the beach, which makes it a rare self-catering option this close to the sand. Check-in is 2:00pm and check-out 11:00am.
