Escurel Inn is a small family-run guesthouse near the southern end of White Beach in Station 3, a short walk back from the sand down the access road by Sacapano Hardware, with Bei Kurt Und Magz and the Blue Mango dive centre close by. Built in 2005 and last renovated in 2011, it is a plain concrete building alongside a few mid-sized traditional cottages, and it has never pretended to be anything other than what it is — one of the cheapest honest beds on this stretch of the island, aimed squarely at backpackers, groups and families travelling on a budget. There are just eight rooms, split evenly between Family rooms and Standard rooms, and guests can take either a fan room or an air-conditioned one. Every room has a cable TV, a hot and cold shower, a refrigerator, a safety deposit box and its own outdoor seating area, and there is a garden to sit out in. Room service, laundry and luggage storage are available and the front desk is staffed around the clock. Worth knowing before you book: there is no swimming pool and breakfast is not included in the rates, though nearby restaurants deliver and the Station 3 dining strip is a few minutes' walk. One child under seven stays free sharing existing bedding. Check-in is 2:00pm and check-out 12:00 noon.
