Palassa Private Residences sits right on the sand at Bulabog Beach in Brgy. Balabag — the eastern, windward side of Boracay, and a completely different proposition to White Beach. From October to April the amihan brings the wind that makes Bulabog one of Asia's best kiteboarding and windsurfing spots, and the view from the rooms is of kite lines and boat traffic rather than sunset crowds. Established in 2013 and renovated in 2024, it is a small four-star aparthotel of ten air-conditioned rooms, with an art gallery on site and sun loungers out on the sand. Rooms are more comfortable than the size of the place suggests: memory-foam beds with down comforters, a minibar and refrigerator, a flat-screen TV with satellite channels, an electric kettle and glassware, an iron and ironing board, and a bathroom with a walk-in shower, a bidet, a separate toilet, a hair dryer, bathrobes and slippers. Several rooms have a private balcony or patio facing the water. Complimentary WiFi runs throughout. Be clear about what is not here before you book: there is no swimming pool and no on-site restaurant. Room service is available but only on limited hours, and White Beach's dining strip is a walk across the island — about ten minutes on foot from Bulabog. What the property does offer instead is a free grocery-shopping service, which suits the self-catering way people tend to use it. The front desk is staffed around the clock, there is concierge assistance and luggage storage, laundry and dry cleaning, and a roundtrip airport shuttle for a surcharge. Whether breakfast is included depends on the rate you book. Check-in is 2:00pm and check-out 11:00am.
