Golden Phoenix Hotel Boracay sits directly on White Beach at the southern end of Station 3, the calmest and least crowded stretch of the island's famous shoreline — the sand is a few steps from the door, D'Mall is a short walk up the beach path, and Caticlan Airport is roughly 6.5 kilometres away. Opened in 2009 and rated four stars, it is a genuinely large property by Boracay standards, with 137 air-conditioned rooms and suites spread across Deluxe rooms in king, queen and twin layouts, two family rooms sized for three and four guests, and three named suites. Most rooms open onto a private balcony, many of them facing the sea, and every room is en suite and non-smoking, with a flat-screen cable TV, a minibar, an in-room safe, a work desk and a hairdryer. The three suites add a separate living area with sofa seating and a bathtub in the bathroom. Outside the rooms there is an outdoor swimming pool with a separate children's pool and a sun deck, and a lush garden running through the grounds. Authentic Oriental, the hotel's beachfront restaurant, serves Chinese cuisine with a view of the water, and there is a bar for cocktails plus a mezzanine lounge above it. A buffet breakfast is served daily from 6:00am to 10:00am — worth checking whether it is bundled into your rate when you book, as this varies by booking. In-house massage is available, along with laundry and dry cleaning, 24-hour room service, souvenir shops, luggage storage, wake-up calls and a tour desk that arranges island trips and tickets. The front desk is staffed around the clock, complimentary WiFi covers the rooms and public areas, and airport transfers can be arranged through the hotel. The property is step-free in parts, with a ramp to the pool, handrails on the stairs and accessible rooms available on request.
