Boracay Uptown sits directly on White Beach at Station 2, a few steps from D'Mall and the run of restaurants, bars and shops that make this the busiest stretch of the island. Opened in 2013, it deliberately looks nothing like the thatch-and-bamboo resorts around it: hardwood walls and floors, sand-coloured concrete, louvered screens and floor-to-ceiling glass outside, and interiors of white walls splashed with strong colour, sleek wooden cabinetry, industrial-style lighting and indoor hammocks. There are two pools — a blue-tiled one on the ground floor with a Poolside Bar and wicker beach beds, which the Poolside and Pool Access rooms open straight onto, and an infinity pool on the third level with its own Pool Bar, angled at the sunset. Above that sit a rooftop al fresco restaurant and function space seating 100 to 150, and a fourth-floor Sky Lounge Veranda looking over the infinity pool and out to the boats, kept exclusively for Executive Suite guests. The hotel's own beachfront has beach beds and runs the water sports — jet ski, kayaking, parasailing, helmet and scuba diving, island hopping. There are four dining outlets plus the two bars, massage services, a concierge and tour desk, laundry, and retail units with a money changer and ATM on the ground floor. All 108 rooms are air conditioned with free WiFi, a 32-inch LCD cable TV, minibar, safety box, electric kettle and an en suite with a hot and cold shower, and every rate includes breakfast. Check-in is 2:00pm and check-out 12:00 noon; breakfast runs 6:00 to 10:00am and the pools are open 10:00am to 9:00pm.
